Gallery Mönch is looking forward to welcoming you to lecture performances with barbara caveng and to an aperitif on the coming Saturdays, September 5, 12 and 19, starting at 4 pm.
ONE DAY CHICKEN. NEXT DAY BONE. *
Dear ladies and gentlemen, dear friends of the gallery,
what you always wanted to know about hair, but never dared to think about it – barbara caveng tells and performs about her artistic insights using hair as material, about her experiences with more than 120 hairdressers* and their customers, why Gottfried Benn inspired her to create the social sculpture HA[A]RVEST and the LIBRARY OF HAIR and how she transforms all this into her sensual objects and sculptures.
September 5
‘Fassonschnitt ohne Treppen / short back and sides’ or ‘On the height of time’: a much-dressed hairdresser who has become independent. (Gottfried Benn).
September 12
‘Consulation from the library of hair”
September 19
‘A Michelle Obama shout-out plus hair as Race Metaphor’
(AMERICANAH, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie).
Furthermore, the LIBRARY OF HAIR will be enlarged by a new work – Maya Angelous I KNOW WHY THE CAGED BIRD SINGS.
The gallery will be open again regularly from now on. Fridays from 15-19 o’clock, Saturdays from 11-15 o’clock. Please feel free to arrange additional appointments by phone or e-mail.
Please note that the Covid-19 pandemic control regulations will continue to apply.
with best regards
